Medjugorje Pilgrimages

Medjugorje is one of the fastest growing Catholic Shrines in the world and a spiritual treasure chest. Since apparitions of the Virgin Mary to six young children were reported in June 1981, tens of millions of people from around the world have travelled to the village of Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina, formerly Yugoslavia.

What draws them there in the millions? Some want to see for themselves whether the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace, is appearing while others - mostly repeat pilgrims - long to experience the grace and mercy of God that is found in great abundance there. Pilgrims often say that it is the closest place to heaven on earth. The "Medjugorje experience" is not something that can be properly explained or quantified in human terms. To fully experience it you must go on pilgrimage there. Medjugorje is a sign of God's love and mercy to our troubled and sinful world in this day and age and a gift to the Church.

Itinerary

Each evening you will join the parish community and other pilgrims for the recitation of the Rosary, celebration of Holy Mass, prayers for the sick and other devotions.
Opportunity for adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, both communally and individually.
Attend talks concerning the events of the Blessed Virgin’s call for peace, often with local priests or purported visionaries.
Visit the apparition hill and recite the Holy Rosary along Mt. Podbrdo.
Make the Stations of the Cross as you climb atop Mt. Krizevac.
You may follow the group program or elect to be on your own.

Pilgrimage Details

Lodging is in a local Pansion (accommodation house) within a few minutes walking distance of the Church. Price is based on double accommodation although a single option is available. Two meals (breakfast and dinner) are included. The food is mostly European - Mediterranean diet although some dishes are made for North American palettes. A local Croatian/English speaking tour guide is included and usually we have a Catholic priest chaplain who accompanies the group.

We have been taking pilgrims to Medjugorje since 1990.
